Gypsy Reel Returns to Weston for their Annual Labor Day Concert

Aug 24, 2019 in News

The Weston Community Association is happy to announce that Gypsy Reel, “The Celtic Band that Rocks”, will return for their ninth annual Labor Day concert on the Weston Green. The date is September 2 and the time is 4 PM. Bring chairs, your friends and a picnic.

Gypsy Reel plays high energy, stirring music rooted in the Celtic tradition but garnered from the whole world. They have “bags of originality” (Andy Cheyne, Folk Roots) and The Message dubbed them “the hottest acoustic band around.”

There is no cost to attend. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Farrar Park Association, an organization of nine ladies, which has owned and maintained the idyllic Weston Green since 1886.

Higher Ground Music says “Gypsy Reel have been perfecting their eclectic blend of Celtic and original music for over 30 years all over the world.” Don’t miss this chance to hear these great entertainers!

Gypsy Reel’s lineup includes hot banjoist, guitarist and vocalist Claudine Langille, formerly of ‘Touchstone’, the sensational Irish/American fusion band that won critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic; Graham Parker, eclectic fiddler extraordinaire; Camille Parker who has captivated the hearts of audiences across the globe with her mandolin and vocals; and Silas Hamilton on standup bass and guitar. Check them out on gypsyreel.com and at their annual Labor Day Concert on the green in Weston.

Following the concert, there will be a reception at the Village Green Gallery. Meet the band members, purchase CDs and enjoy light refreshments.

This concert is hosted and sponsored by the Weston Community Association, stewards of the Weston Playhouse building, the Museums of Weston and Cold Spring Park. In the event of rain, the concert will move to the Old Parish Church, just South of the Green. Both are located in the center of Weston on Route 100.
